As unbelievable as this sounds, Oliver Letwin, a cabinet minister in the coalition government has been photographed disposing of parliamentary and constituency papers in waste paper bins in a Westminster park. The minister, who was in the habit of taking an early morning walk and catching up on paperwork during the summer, then discarded documentation before walking to work. The government is going to some lengths to try and convince public opinion that there are no security implications, despite a BBC report claiming that the discarded papers included correspondence on terrorism, national security and constituents' private details.
